Five in a row for the Zenitar - 5imgs
Posted By: Darren M, 06-27-2009, 10:48 AM

As a very few of you know, I have been working on a photo a day project. It is interesting to me that each of the photos from the past five days was taken with my Zenitar 16mm fisheye. The Zenitar was all the rage a few years ago, but it seems that fewer people are using it these days (primarily because of the 10-17 FE I think). Well, mine still gets regular use and I have to say that I continue to really enjoy using this little oddball. Anyways, here are the photos from the past five days:

Thanks for sharing such a great collection of Zen shots. Those of us that own a good copy are often a little in awe of the kind of image that this little lens is capable of.

#2 and #5 - totally amazing. (heck they are all amazing but the subject in #2 and #5 suits my taste better, that's all I was saying).

Thanks for sharing, I can learn a lot looking at images like this.

The first image in the set is the least interesting to me but all are very good. The color treatments of the sausage grinding woman make it seem from a different time and the blurred background of the motor scooter is a great scene.
Very well done in my humble opinion.

I think I shall have the scene of the wooden animal figures and the scooter in motion as my favorites here.

I just noticed you're posting again, and it's great to see you back, Darren! Always an inspiration, seeing your shots. I was just out shooting with my Zeni on the weekend, it's such a fun lens. Nothing anywhere near as good as your shots, though. I especially like the sausage-maker, the slight distortion and deep dof really work there. Makes me half regret the bratwurst I had for supper last night...
