Summer in Finland
Posted By: ovim, 06-28-2009, 09:09 AM

Here's shots from my trip to our summer place in eastern Finland. Taken With Vivitar Close Focus 2.8/28mm (some might be taken with SMC DA 18-250).

And my first ever Bird In Flight shot taken with a Russian 3M-5A 8/500mm Mirror lens:

I think it's a bird called The Eurasian Curlew (Numenius arquata), or kuovi in finnish. I had pp a bit to get it to stand out from the background and crop quite heavily because it was pretty far away.

#6 is my favourite

It's amazing just how much a subject (the lady rolling a boat) enhances the overall 3-D feeling of a landscape picture

Beautiful summer you have there in Finland

Thanks to everyone for you kind comments.

arclu: I just panned and tried to manually keep the bird in focus, out of the ~30 shots there was two that were reasonably sharp...

That looks like a wonderful lake to row a boat on. Glad to see summer in a place with so much winter!
