A few from Kakabeka Falls....
Posted By: Heinrich Lohmann, 07-01-2009, 07:58 PM

...that I took on the way eastbound leg of the trip. While in southern Ontario my arthritic left knee behaved badly and I was barely able to walk, so all hiking was cancelled and I spent my time in the backyard looking for birds and insects. So I have many of those but very few landscapes. Anyway, these are from the K20D and 16-45

Nice shots Heinrich, the the brown colour of what I assume is rocks at the top of the falls makes it look like millions of gallons of beer flowing down.

Great images Heinrich! I used to live in Thunder Bay and it was always a treat to visit Kakabeka Falls. Thanks for the memories.

Great series Heinrich. Love to see the power of the water falling. Like to go there but I checked it's too far from us

Hi Gary and thank you. The brown is actually the color of the water, Spring runoff through forested areas

Take care,

Hi Conrad and thank you. It's not a Sunday afternoon drive, that's for sure. From Mississauga about 1500 km or so but you do have a bunch of falls close to home.

Take care,

Heinrich, you always do this sort of thing so nicely. I particularly like the last one; even though it lacks the rainbow, it puts the falls in such a nice context.

Thank you Mark, it is a very difficult falls to shoot as long as the sun is out at all. Contrast is very difficult to control, wish I could be there on an overcast day. This was my third time there and the sun was shining again but such is life and maybe I can visit there again sometime.

Take care,
