Reston (VA) Town Center Grand Prix Bicycle Races
Posted By: MRRiley, 07-02-2009, 01:09 PM

I left the Blackwater Gathering early in order to shoot this race. As you can see it offers some rather unusual shooting opportunities.

Shot with the K10D, a BIGMA, a DA 18-45mm and a K-series 135mm f3.5...

I was actually a little off my game shooting this race. After getting up at 4:30am on Saturday, shooting all day, going to bed at nearly midnight and then back up at 4:00am Sunday morning for the sunrise shoot, I was running darned near on empty.

Off your game?

Those tight cornering shots are just great. Do any of your lenses have Campo scratches on them?

Nice... I see that you are definitely getting the hang of this Mike! For being nearly on empty, those are very well done. The first couple and the panning shots are clearly showing this!

Any thoughts on what you took this time (lens selection)? In other words, what worked, etc. and techniques used?

EDIT: oops... my favs are #2 and #6 (as indicated by JMR too).

Regards,
Marc

Bringing this back from the dead.

I have to say I love the last shot - that's quite a huge gap between #1 and 2, 3, and 4. Even better is the "GAP" store signs between 1 & 2 and 2 & 3. Probably not intentional, but perfect!
