Three Waterfall Shots
Posted By: Jimbo, 07-03-2009, 04:45 PM

Trying to decide on the right photo of the three. All taken between 2-4 second exposure and the last one was shot with a different lens. [first two Pentax 16-50 and the other Tamron 90] Light varied a lot from top to the bottom on the falls. JIM

The second one is my favourite. the third has too many things missing, and the first has a busy uppe area (above the waterfall).

That's a gorgeous shot, btw. Excellent technique and composition. Maybe a tad contrasty for my taste, but not much.

Wonderful, Jim. I agree with Heinrich, the last one does it for me. The 2nd one is the best overall view of that falls, but #3 is a little more intriguing with the bottom of the falls obscured by the rocks and moss.

Thanks Dan. I too like the third one for the same reason. JIM

Jim, you've been practicing in secret on us!!!!

#2 and #3 are especially good - very well done! What was your setup on these shots?

Regards,
Marc

All great Jim

cannot part them as a preference, as any of them would look wonderful framed and on a wall... better still all three as a series

cheers

Thanks Marc. Thre first two were shot at 16mm / ISO 320 F22 at 1.3 seconds. I had a polyerized lens on the Pentax 16-50. The thirs was done with the Tamron 90 Marco at similar settings. [.16 second was the only difference] JIM

That was 1.6 seconds on the third one not .16. JIM
