A splash on the water
Posted By: xs400, 07-04-2009, 04:37 PM

I had Friday off from work. This is how I spent a good part of my day off, trying to get a few shots of a drop of water hitting the surface of water. I have always admired shots of water drops, so I decided to try my hand at it. After much trial and error this is what I was able to capture. One thing I can say, capturing these images was a lot harder that i thought it would be.

Good set of images - #3, #4 & #5 are my preferences. #3 looks like an inverted crystal mushroom IMHO, whilst #5 could be a wormhole from a sci-fi movie

Good effort with these.
This kind of shot is harder than it looks.

Thanks very much. I'll have to say that #2 is my favorite. To me is almost looks like a piece of glass crystal.

You are right about the pics looking like an inverted mushroom, I hadn't seen that until you mentioned it. Thanks.

This was harder than it looks. Besides figuring out the lighting and setup to get the pictures, I shot over 200 images to get a few good ones. It was, however, worth the effort.

I've always wanted to try this. Looks like you did a pretty good job. Timing is most everything on this one I suppose.
