First Sunset
Posted By: Buddha Jones, 05-02-2007, 01:48 PM

Back from my vacation and sifted to some of my daily photos. Here is the best sunset IMO from the first day I was there. I have 3 more days to go through before I collect all of the ones that I think are tip top. I posted a bigger one in gallery. As always C&C is welcome.

is this stitched up panorama

Or is it cropped? I think sunsets are hard to do for a couple of reasons. one is that when there in person one sees a whole lot more of it than what we see in the photo. Another is we see so many shots of them that one becomes sort of tougher in evaluating them. In this shot I would have liked something of interest sort of silhoueted against the sunset, a tree, jetty, bikerider etc. Also, a bit of underexposure seems to help the colours in my experience. Heres what I mean.

It is a crop, perhaps I should of made the crop shallower so you could get a better view of the people partying on the deck there?

Hi Buddha. (BTW this is a very cool name )

The sky is a bit over exposed. Use magic wand to select the sky with feather like about 20. Then Level the sky using the gray scale shifting to the right. You would get a more moody sky

Cheers

Hey Ro, I think I know what you mean, and I think I know what I did. I basically over-cooked it in my PP. Let me undo my madness and repost it.
