Sure, but you'll have to pay me a royalty for re-inventing it. LOL
It definitely works better with a RAW image to start with; I just used his attached JPEG here.
But, for this shot:
1. Reduced
Clarity to -40.
2. Boosted
Vibrance to +15.
3.
Brightness to +35 (this will vary greatly shot to shot).
4.
Contrast to +5.
5.
Black level to +3.
6. With
Adjustment Brush I used the "Wow - Eyes Sharpened" preset (edited to reduce its brightness to +35) to re-add some pop to her eyes after the clarity reduction.
I feel it's important to note that it is very easy to over do the affect. The Clarity slider is quite powerful once you travel left of zero.
I'm sure there is a more eloquent way of accomplishing the same thing in CS but I don't own it (yet).
