Can't Find Any Birds
Posted By: Edicon, 07-07-2009, 08:12 AM

Birds are now difficult to shoot, trees are fully covered with leaves. Few birds are in the open. I just shoot whatever I can find.

Pics 1 - 3: K10D + Sigma 100-300/F4
Pics 4 - 5: Km + DA 35mm

Thanks Heinrich for the warning. I have accidentally turned-off allow external link to my gallery. Can someone check if the pics are already showing.

Many thanks.

Thanks Andi. I like it because of the backlighting effect to the image.

Who needs birds, with those really great shots, I wouldn't worry about any bitty birds.

I agree with photolady, why even try to shoot bird when you take such beauties as these four.

Thank you Photolady, appreciate the comments. For now, I see to it that I have my Km with me everytime I go out for birding. More weight to carry but it's worth sometimes.

Thanks Scott. I guess I need to make the Km+macro as my main camera and make the K10D & sigma zoom as the backup. Lots of flowers and insects to shoot everywhere but few birds.

They're all very nice shots - I'd say the birds did you a favor staying hidden ... The last is a standout for me - Fantastic shot!... almost makes me want to go bug chasing... almost.

Thanks Josh. I remember kneeling on the ground just to nail that shot. I think I need now to bring my kneepad all the time.

I just got the DA 35mm and I had the 100-300 for my 40D and I would say they are easily 2 of the three best lenses I have ever used. My 3rd is the Sigma 24-60 (again a Canon Mount...) I actually found and ordered a new Pentax mount version from a small online seller, last they had.

But those shots of yours do true justice to the gear used. Just wonderful work!! thanks for sharing them to remind me I, well, I at least try hard. hahahaha....

I love that butterfly shot...it looked like you used the 100-300 was that the lens for this shot? And your SmugMug gallery is just fun to browse!
