I was stunned by Bud's shots of the Luna Moth, particularly the one on the tree trunk.
Nothing to compare with that in this part of the world.
Here is a couple of my efforts, for a first time post to this forum. Moth and Preying Mantis.K10D with Sigma 17-70 (a great lens!)

Nice start to your postings! The preying mantis is nice and it looks like he has a funny expression on his face. It needs some sort of funny caption (not that I'm a comedian).

Perhaps "What do you think you are up to?" might be a suitable caption.
Or "Whats that thing your are pointing at me?"

I like the moth, but that is a really great mantis shot.

That mantis shot is top-notch! The moth looks like some sort of sphinx moth?

Hey thanks a lot for your positive comments. As I look through some of the posts here it certainly is inspiring. The quality of the photography is great.
