Little critters from Southern France
Posted By: Rense, 07-11-2009, 01:15 PM

I tried a lot of field macro photography on our holidays. It's quite a hard job, with uncontrolable winds and ever moving animals. Not to speak of the terrible hot sun . Wel, here are some of the better ones. I have to practice a lot, so much is clear....

Interesting series. Thanks for sharing! In particular, I like #7. How big is it?

Very nicely done - I'm envious!

#'s 3 & 8 in particular really appeal to me.

Great to see you had a productive vacation Rense. I've enjoyed looking at them all.

I could tell that these critter are European - they appear more culturally refined than the ones we have in Texas.

Very nice macros, Rense.

Thank you! The 'thing' in #7 (I don't even know what kind of animal it is...) is about 1 cm.

Thank you Gary. There is lot of space for improvement, but I think that will keep me going...

Thanks Dave, you're right. In the end I shot over 100 macro shots, so if there wouldn't have been some approvement, I would have stopped and sold my macro gear. Instead of that, I bought me a Pentax auto-bellows, and a Pentax-A 100/4 macro. Both will be in the mail next week, I hope!

Thank you Jer! Even these culturally very refined bugs can be very annoying!
