4th of July fireworks
Posted By: heatherslightbox, 07-11-2009, 08:00 PM

Taken at Cedar Key, Florida with a tripod mounted K20D, Sigma 17-70, & cable release. PPed in Lightroom.

This was the first time since getting into DSLRs that I've attempted to shoot fireworks, so I didn't get a whole lot of keepers, but I learned things that will help me next time I attempt them. I think this one is the best of the keepers.

AWESOME!! you did very well with this one thats for sure. I maybe would clone out the little light on the left quarter of the way up. Again very nicely done.

I think we can all agree that one is a keeper. First time shooting fireworks? You are one fast learner.

Thanks, everybody!

Pat--your comment about the little light in the water is well taken. I'll clone it out next time I open up LR.

That is a great shot. It has some lovely colours.

Maybe you could 'clone' out the glint of light on the left side of the image 'cos it distracts and takes my eye away from the fireworks. Great image, nonetheless.

Agree, excellent shot, only complaint is that it is so small here, any change of showing us a bigger version?

That little distracting light in the water has been cloned out. It definitely does help the pic.

Well, done Heather. First time I tried this they went all whizzy on me. I think I kept the shutter open too long.

Very nice Heather. Fireworks are often overdone, but this one strikes the perfect balance. Well done!

That's fantastic! I had no idea that Cedar Key did such an awesome fireworks show. You should be very proud of this shot.
