Yellow crowned night heron

Not the best shot (head angled away), but it's my first adult I think. The second shot is of an immature one I caught a few weeks ago in the very same spot.

Very nice images, especially # 2, thanks for posting. I just notice in your signature -Leica IIF + Summar 50/2 - very nice, that combination earned my living for a while a long time ago.

Look real good to me. I was just saying to Heinrich that I don't know how you birders do it. I cant seem to get any decent bird shots.

I'd love to hear more about that.

The Leicas are fantastic cameras and a joy to use. Mine doesn't see enough shutter clicks lately, but I often have it with me when traveling and it gets pulled out now and then when I am in the mood. The Summar is an early uncoated one which is very low contrast, but renders a beautiful image.

We could start a birding thread if you're interested. My shots looked like crap when I first started out and while I'm no Art Morris I feel that they've definitely improved over the past few months.
