Went out today - drove aimlessly for miles (kilometers actually ) - decided to try my hand at a hand held pano and here are the results

Nice panos Dave and I do like the second one best.
The canola itself doesn't look all that hot, must have been dry there as well. Did you notice whether that bluebird box was occupied?

Thanks Jim #1 lined up better for sure. I am still undecided which one I like better.

Thanks Grant , what you don't think I did this by hand - Nothing more the Photoshop (CS4) - Photomerge - Auto - Vignette Removal. Since this was hand held I did use about a 50% overlap on about 6 shots.

Thanks Heinrich. Indeed this was about the 4th canola field I drove by and it was the best of the bunch. Driest June in 50 years is causing a lot of farmer grief for sure. And dooooooh nice eye - I did not notice the box at all actually until you just mentioned it - too focused at task at hand

Thanks Gary this is my second attempt. I will have to admit the software makes it so simple I think I will try next time with a tripod , the way it's suppose to be done.

Looks like a pro job to me, Dave. You must have a pretty steady hand, my friend.

You've got a steadier hand than me Dave. Both shots look pretty darn good to me. Have to say I like #1 best though mainly because the telephone pole and roadside in the second one tend to distract from the golden field.
