I went for a short drive again today, and took these pictures
This barn is slated to be burned down soon

And I imagine that this building will get burned down soon as well, although I really don't know.

I don't think I'd linger too long too close to them. Cool colours.

Looks like the house is haunted. Like supernatural tv series - ghost hunting kind of house for a show.

Scary in deed. The background looks so bushy like in the middle of no where...

Great shots

Oh my!

I'd love to wander around that area, and poke through those old buildings.

Are these on Crown land?

nope Tom Lusk, and thank you everyone. They're all private property, but I know everyone in the area. As a result I'm always allowed to go snap the photo's, usually in exchange for a laser print

I'll be taking the photo's of the old abandoned mining towns next spring, after my 4x4 is finished (possibly earlier)

I did go for a wander through the second building, but I was pretty careful where I stepped down. There were nails sticking up everywhere, and as you can see the floor was rotting away.
I think that I'll start bringing my steel toed boots, for such places.

Very nice! I like the brand new, shiny bolt on the decaying old door. Why are they going to be burned? We waited patiently and our barn just fell over one day. This was the result:

I call it "Centre of the universe". Taken with my Oly Stylus a few months before I got the DL.
We did eventually let a neighbour take any usable bits to fix up his hunting camp, and got a backhoe to flatten the rest, but burning it just seemed too risky. And smelly. I'm glad you documented these barns so nicely before they're gone.

I love it, Thanks for posting that photo Julie

They had brought an expert to look at the barn and were told that it's a very unsafe building

If it was on my property I'd fence it in, but keep it intact for artists and photographers to use.

I'm kind of hoping that I can be there when they do torch it. I'd probably get several good pictures, although I'd almost cry at he same time.

Imagine how many barn board picture frames you can get from all that wood
