Weekend Photos
Posted By: Edicon, 07-20-2009, 01:36 PM

Some of the photos I got last weekend. I've been trying to get a good quality shot of these tiny birds for some time but these American Goldfinch are always on the move. Most of them are camera shy and getting near for a good shot is a bit of a challenge.

On my last outing, I really have to crawl and hide from the tall grasses to get within good shooting distance. At least my hardwork paid off as I was able to get what I'm after.

All photos taken with the K10D + Sigma 100-300/F4 + Sigma 1.4x TC. Thanks for viewing and comments are always welcome.

Love them all! The Goldfinch is one of my favorite birds.

The last image looks a bit soft, but no matter, the others are excellent and even the last is good composition.

I agree. I believe it's my first pic of this bird and I got excited when I saw him landed a few feet from me. Light was not good and I did not notice the 1/100s (using the sigma @300mm + 1.4x TC).

Great shots all! Somehow the second shot pleases me most, even when the bird itself is not that prominent in that shot!
