Day 2: Tooling around
Posted By: Martytoof, 07-20-2009, 07:11 PM

Wanted to play around with the camera today but I didn't have too much time. Fired off these two in our backyard though. Raw out of camera looked very low contrast and almost hazy, but the lens seems fine (no fungus, etc). Will try to +EV next time to see if maybe I can recover some detail. Will also stop down to 5.6 next time to see if the lens gets any sharper.

Both are interesting images. Which lenses are you using for this? The bokeh has a very odd quality to it... not how I prefer it, but interesting nevertheless.

These are both done using the CPC Phase2 70-200 f/4 at f/4.5@200mm. Definitely some different bokeh, coming from my Canon kit lens and EF-50mm 1.8

Like the sparkly OOF highlights.
Well done.

For now, yes, I gave up on my Canon. The viewfinder can't hold a candle to the K10d's

I'm certain that the OP isn't the lens designer.

Martytoof, which camera did you use previously?

I think those Rebels have pentamirrors instead of pentaprisms. Do all Pentax's have pentaprisms?

Interesting, the concept in the first shot is great, I like it! If there were a little more contrast between those two elements its would be stunning! - Just a suggestion...
