Lassen-Shasta-Redwoods
Posted By: scatron, 07-22-2009, 10:42 AM

Spent 13 days on the road July 1- 13 with a week-long stay in Oregon. First part of the trip worked our way across northern California, camping as we went.

These are some scenic shots from that first leg of the trip.

All with the DA 18-250. I packed a bunch of other stuff (Pentax-FA 50mm F1.4, Sigma 70-300 mm F/4-5.6 APO DG Macro, Hanimex 200mm f/3.5, Tokina 500mm f8 Mirror Lens) but never opened my pack.

(Click on photo for larger version)

1.
Mt. Lassen reflected in Summit Lake
(1/500, f/16.0, 39 mm focal length, ISO 800)

2.
Mt. Shasta from Lake Siskiyou
(1/1250, f/13.0, 93 mm, ISO 800)

3.
Lady Bird Johnson Grove, Redwoods National Park
(1/200, f/8.0, 23 mm, ISO 800)

Constructive criticism is welcome, these are essentially snapshots, not planned, just captured as we traveled around.

I agree. We'd been to this same spot six years ago, but I don't remember the rhododendrons being as pretty.

It grows on me the more I look at it. I'm thinking of entering it in the county and state fairs.

I agree with the rest. #2 should be hanging on a wall. JIM
