A few from my Botanical Gardens series
Posted By: attack11, 07-22-2009, 11:03 AM

I finished off my Montreal Botanical Gardens series thanks to a second visit this past weekend; and I've got the results online after a solid 6 hours of editing. The full series is online at Jason Mulligan | Montreal Botanical Gardens

Shot the entire series with my SMC F 135mm/f2.8 hand held. Total time on the project is approximately 20hrs.

Macros aren't my thing but these are still well done.

I think the first shot would benefit a lot from some correction of the fringing

they're not macros. i left the CA for a 'sun kissed' look.

Close-ups then, whatever you want to call it.

Obviously your editing is up to you, but I'm wondering about the 'sun kissed' thing? The fringe in the first shot is to me just a lens failure that takes away from the crispness of the point of focus.

it's all about size. it's really impossible to please everyone, so for the last few threads i've been putting 1024px images instead of 500px.

obviously the larger something is, the further back you need to be for the appropriate viewing distance. it's completely lost on a monitor less than 2ft away

in this case; when printed it looks awesome.

These are pretty good. I particularly like the last image.
