Random Dim Sum Shots w/DA 21mm
Posted By: legacyb4, 07-24-2009, 06:35 AM

At one of my favorite dim sum (Wikipedia: dim sum) restaurant (Fortune Seafood, Metrotown); shot with DA 21mm @ ISO 800. In order of the pics, those are dumplings stuffed with shrimp and pea shoots, spicy marinaded feet of chicken, and fresh pea shoots fried with garlic!

Very nice shots...
I have the 12-24mm, 31mm, 43mm, should I get the 21mm?
The 12-24mm is good but is given up half-stop and also big filter size (not easy to hide).

Thanks & thanks. It's a very good lens, no doubt.

Just got confirmation today that a portrait pic of my daughter shot with the DA 21mm will be gracing the cover of the City of Delta's 2009 Parks & Rec Leisure Guide! Adise from a touch up of a slightly runny nose that the designer did, the picture is pretty much "as is"!

Congratulations! I've always enjoyed the shots of your children.

P.S. I accidentally ordered the chicken feet at a dim sum place in Minneapolis. I couldn't get them past my lips - how do you eat them with all the bones in there?

Very carefully! Basically just bite off chunks and slowly separate the bones out from the edible parts (like eating cherries, basically).

I have the 21 and the 12-24 and have found the 12-24 sharper from edge to edge.

Very tempting dishes. Color is great and in this environment concealment (DA21) is more important than the very slight different picture quality.
