Jim,

Very nice shots either way. If the dock had continued across the entire width of the photo I would have said "with dock" but as is I have to say "without dock." I assume you simply stepped a bit closer (or zoomed) for the second photo and this isn't more evil post-processing (wink wink nudge nudge say-na-more).

Love the second shot too.

Mike

Hi Jim,
Between shot 1 and 2, it looks better w/out the dock, but I like the composition in shot 3. That's my favorite of the 3 shots

I think it would be interesting if you shot the first image with the tripod down really low (if a tripod was used) or get down low to get a different perspective.

The wink wink is correct! Thanks Mike. Just wanted to get ideas for future shots. JIM

#3 is my pick of the 3 and prefer #2 (no dock) over #1. All are great shots to me.

really like number 3 as my fav in this set..
as for dock or no dock.... i personally would like to see more sky in the background with the canoes closer to the foreground of the pic..... does this make sense?? it would like panning the camera up towards the sky.....

Hey, JIM - number three is special. I agree with Mike vis a vis the first two.

Appreciate you commenting. Looks like #2 and maybe more sky. I will remember this next time. JIM

Thank you. I see your point and thats why I put the dock out front to try to balance the shot, but I guess it didn't work. JIM

Jimbo, without the dock is, IMHO, better - I'm not sure how to say what I feel, but the dock seems "unnecessary" and a distraction.

Now, having said that, I do like the 3rd shot the best!!
