Warning, pics of kids inside...i promise to post more flowers and bugs next time

Yesterday was the first day of school in these parts, and both my sons attend the same school this year. My youngest started Kindergarten and was really nervous about the whole thing. I figured I'd add to his 1st day jitters by making a photo shoot out of it.

Here's how the morning drop-off went...

Where's my classroom?

The handoff

Should I stay? Or make a run for it?

All in all, he reported to have had a good day and has gone back today, so that is a good sign.

BTW, the lens used was my M 50 f/1.7 with relatively wide apertures (2.0 to 2.8). no flash, just the morning sun which was strong.

Why would you punish your child by making him wear Crocs though?

I vote for no. 2 ... it depicts the emotions of the first day perfectly. At least that is how I remember mine.

Great shots fejker, the first thing on my mind was "what lens is he using" you answered that in your own post.

My 2 cents!

#1 have great colors and sharpness, i also like the expressions on the kids faces, one is thrilled the other tense.

#2 Is realy really good, the softness add to the emotion in the picture.

I think i´m gonna have to get me my own manual 1,7 soon

Man I thought Florida started early. When do the kids get out for summer break?

PS After a second look they are all nice shots. I just like the B&W best.

I just realized I don't remember a thing about my first day at school. Then, I'm in my late forties!

The second one gets my vote also. It's a beauty!!
