Street shot
Posted By: CWyatt, 07-30-2009, 07:57 PM

This is an anonymous street shot I took this morning.

Interested to see what you think. It's best viewed large for the detail (like the baby's face) but this will have to do here.

I've titled it 'Of life and death'

I used a different method of saving this, can you please let me know if you see any warm colour tone - the image is meant to be black and white. Thanks.

Fine theme; I see it as from the craddle to the grave, the walk through life.
Nicely done.

Looks sepia tone to me, but I like it. I think it adds something to the photo in the "life" aspect. B&W might be too much of the "death" aspect. But then again, it all depends on what you're going for.

Definitely sepia toned; I think I would prefer truer b&w. Nice photo, maybe you could brighten the shadows just a bit?

Do either of the first two versions have any colour tone at all? Do they appear the same on your screen? CHeers

The second version is using an unsharp mask preset to 'sharpening for the web'. It looks more like it's MEANT to look, with the detail in the baby's face. Dunno why web blurs everything out, is it the browsers?

Trying to deal with jpeg's stealing my colour and contrast, I think it's because I'm working with the CMYK output of my printer lab, not the sRGB computer viewing.

EDIT: The final one was the wrong attachment and is well over-sharpened but you get the idea.
