Mazes in the Mist
Posted By: Damn Brit, 07-31-2009, 12:10 AM

Walking in the fog the other evening, I decided to see if I could get shots of the mazes.
There are five of them supposedly, I know where four are and I managed to photograph three. The fourth one was below me and slightly to the left very close to the third one shown here but I could not get a vantage point for it, you can just make out the outer ring at the edge of the shot.
No one knows who made them, the only reference I could find is here; The Sibley Mazes

Interesting mazes.
The fog adds mystery to their appearance.

Neat-o! I found at least four, nosing around on Google maps. Spooky photos...

edit: I've attached part of the google maps view of the maze in your first photo. That makes at least five I spotted... fun game!

another edit: I just figured out how to get the location of what you're looking at. For those who don't want to fiddle around, here are the mazes I've found - just paste in the search window of Google maps.

37.854681,-122.191597
37.857372,-122.196092

Okay, enough time-wasting... but that was fun!

Julie

I didn't see any druids around though.

Thanks for your efforts Julie, I'll certainly look for the fifth one now.

I'm sure no pun was intended Jer.

I'm surprised that the first one came out as well as it did. That maze is in a gully and the wind was really gusting, so much so that it was difficult to stand.

I just wanted to update this thread. Thanks to Julies (Foxglove) efforts on Google Maps, I found the fifth maze. The fog was there but it didn't reach this maze.
I think the third shot shows some amaze-ing bokeh.
