More Tennis Action
Posted By: codiac2600, 05-10-2007, 09:12 PM

Decided to stop by the ole Highschool and watch some of the talented guys play and take some shots as they practiced and warmed up for some tournament later on in the day. Enjoy and C&C is welcome.

All taken with the Simga 105mm 2.8, which turns out to be a great sports lens for high school because of its perfect reach and speed. I'm Very happy with the results and C&C is again welcome.

Impressive! Being a little above the action helps with the background. Did you autofocus? Only thing I would have done differently if they were my shots would be to crop the landscape format images. There is enough resolution that all of them could be made the same size, but in portrait format. Good timing on the first image. It's difficult to catch the ball on the strings.

Good idea... I'm just lazy LOL. I just got a Flickr account and used the uploadr and didn't feel like PP too much.

Nice action! I want to take some actions shots of our ball team (mostly hitting ) and wondering if 105mm would be enough reach (not really looking for an answer haha I know a $6k lens would work!)... And I assume especially in tennis you did you use auto focus ? I like the last shot the best - air time ...
