Oakland Panorama
Posted By: Damn Brit, 07-31-2009, 10:16 PM

Panorama taken from the Oakland Hills.
Far right is Downtown, just to the left is Lake Merrit, Oakland docks runs behind them and becomes yacht marinas, far left the spit of land is the northern tip of Alameda which is an island that is reached via tunnel or bridge.

Eight exposures. FL - 260mm, F/16, Exp 1/60s

You can view it larger in the gallery.

Very nice pano Gary.
The gallery version shows significantly more detail and was worth the two mouse clicks to get there.

I have a couple questions, though.
How do you achieve ISO 125? My K10D only has 100 then 200, etc.
Why would you chose 'Sharpness soft (1)'? Or is that just a setting you forgot to change from when you were doing portraits?

Wow that's beautiful! It must've taken you a lot of photos to stitch that altogether. What do you do to put your panorama together?

Thanks for taking the trouble to look at the big picture Jeff.
I think the ISO 125 is due to setting 1/3 ev steps.
As for Sharpness setting, oops!

Thanks. 8 Exposures, make sure the tripod is level, overlap between 25 and 35%. Stitched together in Elements 6.

Thanks Scott, it is pretty expansive. I've been unable to find a vantage point where I can get two layers, that's why the vertical is so short.
