My first attempt at HDR

Man that is a tedious process, but the end result is pretty cool! Definitely needs some work and practice though!

Here is the HDR:

Welcome to the fun but tedious obsession of HDR! Great first attempt. It's great subject matter - possibly a little over saturated. What HDR program are you using, or are you shooting with a k-7 and using the built in hdr processing?
P.S. - check out You can search by body and lens type, so you can see what other Pentaxians are doing.

My original picture was not very good to begin with and it was overexposed, so I had to crop down the overexposed part, but I think it still shows in the hdr version.
Okay now to answer your question, I just used my K10D to take the original photo and did the rest in Photoshop. I found this tutorial on youtube that was easy to follow. But you definitely have to be patient with it as it involves many steps! You can find the tutorial here: YouTube - Photoshop HDR Tutorial

Thank you for the link! There are a lot of great resources there!! It would be nice to have the k7 and be able to do the hdr directly from the camera!!

You should REALLY think of using hdr software - photoshop is good for some fine tuning of the final product. Get a trial version of photomatix (I use it) here:HDR photo software & plugin - Tone Mapping, Exposure Fusion & HDR Imaging for photography and try fdrtools:FDRTools - High Dynamic Range HDR Imaging Digital Panorama Photography Software. FDR is free, but photomatix is much better.

Please post some of your future hdr shots here and at hdrecreme. Always fun to see!
