Beautiful, I almost made it to Istanbul once, but got stuck in Romania, due to my brother having passport problems (We got pulled off the train at the Romanian border, with Hungary I think.) This images almost make me wish I'd left him behind

I was in Istanbul last fall and loved it. Looks like you got to some of the same places I did - thanks for posting and sharing. (I plan to come through Poland at some point as well - just don't know when!)

I've just visited Istanbul in Turkey. Beautiful city.

I once lived just across the water from Istanbul, in the small town of Yalova, for 2.5 years. It was an interesting visit and the area is truly fascinating. The people also seemed especially friendly to Americans, often pointing out places to visit or things to do. I was even invited into several homes as an honored guest of the family (one of the few times another male may see an Islamic woman without her veil). Not as many women in Istanbul today continue to wear veils, but the practice is still commonplace outside the city.
