Yellowstone Wildlife
Posted By: palmor, 08-03-2009, 10:29 PM

Hi everyone,
I'm in the long process of processing all the photos I took from a two week vacation in Yellowstone in July. These are just some of the wildlife photos I've managed to get through so far. I'll be posting more, including a series of Wolves hunting Elk (from very far away, not the best photos per say but still cool IMO). More photos can be found here: Yellowstone Wildlife Photo Gallery by palmor at pbase.com

Comments welcome!

Not shot with Pentax but don't worry, I have a ton of Pentax photos coming along that I'll be posting

Not the typical Bison Photo

Who knew Bison picked their noses hehe

I felt really bad about this photo. There was a mother duck quacking her brains out as this Coyote was searching for food in the tall grass. What I didn't know was that he actually found a baby duck to snack on (look closely at what is in his mouth). At 100% view the baby duck seems to be looking right at me.

I'm hard pressed to decide which I like best. This is a great series of shots.

Wonderful shots. Not sure if I vote for the two-headed Bison or the shedding Bison picking his nose with his tongue. Love that first Bear shot too where it looks like it just crashed through a fence or something.

Probably used the Pentax to shoot the Robins and flowers.

yeah, the duck shot gives you that 'hit in the stomach' feeling....
nature is beautiful, but also unrelenting...........

Yes I like the 'double ended' buffalo. Very good. The coyote shot is tough but realistic. You just had the wrong shooting equipment at that moment.

All the bear shots are great, the first being the best. Much more fun than shooting a wedding eh!?!

Phenomenal shots! I have your pbase gallery bookmarked for later perusal.

Maybe bring up the shadows a tiny bit in a couple of the photos to help us see better?

The duck-coyote story is sad... I'm pretty fond of ducks, and if my g/f saw this she'd be in tears. Awesome capture, though.

Very nice shots! Looks like you kept showing up at the right place & time! I was hoping for my first visit there in September but that's falling through. Got something to look forward to!..

The first bear seems to be saying "your feet hurt ... try walking on these puppies"
