Falls Illumination
Posted By: Edicon, 08-04-2009, 10:47 AM

Went to Niagara Falls last Sunday to see the falls illuminated in the colours of the rainbow. The falls are illuminated nightly. Comments are always welcome.

Taken with K10D & DA* 16-50mm.

Photos 1-3 (Horseshoe Falls), #4 (American Falls), #5 Panorama

I missed you by a couple of days then. I had no tripod so took more during the day than night.

Thanks for sharing! Nothing much to say about these perfectly executed shots.

beautiful images. I used to live in Buffalo and really miss the countryside there, especially the falls.

Very nice.

.... now just get them lit up with the fireworks overhead.....lol

Did you find it too busy on the rail, with your tripod? I'm never sure if I'm going to be shoulder to shoulder with people, or if there will be some gaps to use the tripod (so usually I just get lazy and don't take it - then I regret it).

I've got some fireworks photos that I still have to do some minor PP since it was my first. Very crowded last Sunday night. I rest the 2 legs of the tripod on the side wall (rail) while I protect the other one.

Awesome idea, I'll have to try that. You're lucky, my sister was there Sunday morning and said it poured so hard they left, but the QEW was bumper to bumper, Ft. Erie bound for their whole trip back to TO.

Excellent work. Crisp and well composed. Is that plane in the 4th image on the upper left?

A colourful array of lights through that majestic waterfall.
Well captured.

Nice shots Conrad. I haven't been to the falls for some time. Considering they are one of the "wonders of the world" I should visit more often as they are just an hour or so down the road.
