first attempt at macro
Posted By: PeteyJ, 08-04-2009, 09:44 PM

So here are a few shots from my K20D using the macro setting on the Quantaray 70mm-300m that I just got in the mail. I've never really done macro before, and I know using a zoom lens for macro isn't going to yield the best results, but constructive criticism is still welcomed.

For a first try at macro, you did very well. Nice work

You did a great job there, better than my first attempts at macro.

I kinda think you may just be showin' off a little! hehe

Those are really nice for your first macros... Now don't go get all macro-stronic and buy some fancy, super sharp dedicated Macro lens right away...

Flow with the softer tonality of the 70-300 for a while, you are on track...

Yeah I definitely don't plan on buying a dedicated macro lens any time soon. Those things are way to expensive for a college student to buy after having just bought a K20D.

Thanks everyone for all of the positive comments!

Check out the reversing adapter thread, it's a cheap and fun option for macro.
