Lovely shot,as to my own attempt failed(Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8) dismally and only got a white hot blurred moon.....

I tried the other night with my Ronkinon 600mm f6.3 mirror lens but wasn't happy with the results, most shots were blurred when I cropped in.

I'll have to try with the 50-135 next time it shows up (and I have time).

It's in the exif - ISO 100, f/6.3, 1/160s. Just put your camera in M and experiment, or spot-meter the moon.

A tripod and timer is necessary, too.

My attempt was at 1/60s, f/8.

Yep Impact got the EXIF. Cheers. Its about a 100% crop i think.

I never knew what the man in the moon refered to until that capture. Or am i high?

Right now the moon is geting smaller and the craters on the edge of the dark area are a lot more visible.
