First images from new camera...
Posted By: Duh_Vinci, 05-12-2007, 09:32 AM

Addicted to Pentax - maybe Collected enough money from various rebates in the past few months, so ordered K100D from Beach Camera (body only), great price could not resist and free shipping. Wanted something mainly for easy "grab and go", something light, mostly for landscapes, so I don't have to change lenses often.

First impressions - MUCH prefer K100D over my old Rebel XT/350D, feels right, sturdy, like the controls.

So here are few shots with the kit lens in no particular order... Overcast morning, I know, sky is "blah"

Sun came up for a second or two:

Though this one may be better in B&W:

And few "colors":

All PEF>JPEG in Pentax supplied software and framed in PS. Really enjoy this camera, and stock kit lens - still WOWs me!

Regards,
D

I like them all, but #2 is my fav.
I'm sure that you'll like your K100D as much as I like mine

the B&W one is my favorite! it almost looks infrared. Nice job on all of them. (I certainly have no complaints about the kit lens myself)

All great shots, but the B&W definitely got more of my attention!

Were these all shot with the kit lens? If so, I gotta pick mine up more often - lol.

Nice shots (like #2) but how did you get the "body only" with a kit lens? :-)

Thanks for the comments everyone, much appreciated!

I also would like to thank all of you on this forum for introducing me to Pentax, I feel very comfortable using both cameras with minimal learning curve after switching from Canon with absolutely no regrets at all

Alvin - yep, all kit lens, looks like it's going to stay on K100D most of the time...

SpecialK - I ordered my K10D as body only as well (back in November), I've seen results from Canon and Nikon kit lenses and was the least to say "not very impressed"... Then came across this forum, and after seeing so many fantastic photos ranging from macro to landscapes to portraits with the kit lens, I got one, just to see the results for myself. Absolutely best lens for the money imo!

Regards,
D

Great shots even just with the kit lens. The images seem "cleaner" whenever k100d is used comparing to k10d.

p.s. Just wondering why you want to get a k100d after owning a k10d. I thought you might just invest in another lens perhaps ... I would pray I could get a good decent flash ...
