Second attempt at vertical exposure panorama (10 exposures)
Posted By: Damn Brit, 08-08-2009, 03:37 AM

This is my second attempt to get more height in a panorama. The wider you go, the less height you get comparatively, obviously. This pano is ten vertical exposures side by side.
The high point on the right hand side is Mt. Diablo.
Once again, you can double click on the gallery version if you want to explore.
The bottom of this one I'm not so happy with compositionally but there was a lot of grass in the way. On the other hand, it was very windy so I'm happy that I was able to stitch it together in the first place.

Nice. Typical east bay scene. It seems seemless to me. Well done.

I'd sure love to talk to you about doing panos tomorrow at the meet up in SF. I've tried it and have been able to prove I'm a klutz.

Very nicely done Gary. This is something I've never tried in either orientation. Gotta give it a go when crazy season is over. So what program?

Thank you Heinrich, unfortunately I believe it is going to be yet another gated community and golf course.

Nice work Gary. Did you use a tripod or were the pics hand held?

Thanks, that's the funniest thing I've read today. Ten exposures and it was windy, yes I used a tripod.
I wish I was steady enough to do something like that hand held. Even though the tripod is light, carrying that and a bag with a camera and three lenses in it and controlling two dogs is quite an undertaking.

I like this shot. The added height really works.
Will they still let you take pictures once the gate is in place?
Would live to get a shot like that of the river.
Don't suppose it would work with a ball head..

Good work. You're getting mighty proficient with panos. Now if you can stop them from always leaning left.

Thanks, no they won't be able to stop photographs, I was on regional park land when I took it. I've taken quite a few with a ball head, it's a bit harder to level though.
