The tropics are bugging me!

I was fortunate enough to escape up to tropical Queensland last week and while I was there i managed to shoot some bugs with the new K-7
All taken handheld with sigma 70 and 540flash (except #1 had no flash)

Colours and detail of #1 and 6 are stunning.
melander's right - something about that insect in #7 looks sinister.
The tropics do have such a diverse set of bugs...

Some are looking quite dark to me here.

But that first one is clear, detailed and with lovely bokeh.

Nice work. I agree, maybe a little dark but not drastically so and can easily be fixed. I really like #3, I think that one is great as it is.

Beautiful shots! They're a little more colourful than the critters I'm used to seeing around here.

And here's me thinking how cute #7 is! Of course I know he was hanging out on a leaf with some big bad ants! The poor little fella is only 6mm long!

The detail on #6 is amazing, You can see a whole bunch of parasites on its back and head at 100%!

Yes a couple do need a bit of a boost now you mention. Its not helped by all that green either!
