My new car & first photos
Posted By: mikeSF, 08-08-2009, 02:51 PM

Finally something I want to photograph, lol. Yesterday I brought home my new (pre-owned actually) Mustang , and before I get it all dirty, I thought I should capture the new car smell on camera.

This morning at dawn, I drove it down to the local school parking lot and shot these handhelds using the Cosina 55mm for the first two and the fisheye for the rest. I hope you like these.

Never been a Ford guy, but the stang is one good looking vehicle, and those are nice pics. the first photo is something I would expect to see in the promotional brochure for the car.

That thing is a beast.. how many kms.. err.. miles does she get to the gallon?

Nice shots. #3 is cool. This is why I want a wide angle.

only about 26km/gal (~16mpg), city driving...not great.
I haven't even driven it enough to burn through my first tank yet, but that is what i expect.

Funny, I mostly use old manual primes and on those rare occasions when i pop on a zoom lens, i forget to actually turn the ring to zoom. instead i walk closer or retreat, just as i would with a prime. For these FE shots i completely forgot my DA10-17 could change FL and just shot them all at whatever it happened to be set at from last time...doh!

Well, I was always jealous of your Cosina 55... but this is just full on taunting me now! Wow she is pretty, sleek and shiny... talking about the car now, not the lens!

Congrats...

and we missed you yesterday
