My First Test Shots With The K-7...
Posted By: PentaxFan, 08-08-2009, 07:16 PM

I'm so pleased to be the new owner of the K-7 ;-) I also purchased the battery grip and an extra battery as well as the new SMC Pentax-DA 50-200mm ED WR lens which I used for these test shots.

So..stepping up from the K200D..a slight learning curve ahead of me and learning how to get the best out of the K-7 and this lens, but the learning is fun fun fun ;-)

These images are not as sharp as I would like, but I was also a little shaky from being so excited..I'm like a little kid in candy store...

They all look good to me! I can't wait to get my K7 later this month.

They look pretty sharp here. Great color on that first flower.

Nice and colourful series. What about the AF speed? And noise?

The AF speed is certainly faster...very much improved!

Noise...perhaps not a whole lot of improvement there..but I honestly haven't done a lot of shooting yet at ISO 1600, 3200 or 6400, but ISO 800 & 1600 look usable thus far.

I'll report back when I use the higher levels! I've only had the camera for two days so far!

Very nice indeed... the color and the details in the first one is exceptional.

I am also thinking about getting the k7 as an upgrade to my k10D as well. Hopefully the price will come down a bit toward yearend. Did you get your k7 from the local store? I am thinking about Prodigital2000 as their price tend to be lower....

Thanks for sharing.

Yes..the camera, lens, grip and extra battery were purchased at Henry's. My family and I have done a lot of business with them over the years and that reaps the benefit of customer loyalty discounts!

Otherwise..ProDigital is cheaper if you can't get a store level discount. And even then..don't be afraid to ask for one!
