On a Bed, On the Streets
Posted By: paulyrichard, 08-14-2009, 04:25 PM

This is the first time i've ever seen homelessness taken to this degree, on the streets of London.

That is taking the old saw, "Home is where the heart is," into entirely new territory. Very moving shot.

Sad story of this couple.
Being ex-Army he'd have the survival skills, but pity about the scorning of passers by.
For those of us privileged enough to have food on our tables, rooves over our heads and clothes on our backs, we ought to be thankful and consider the less fortunate - the stories behind their misfortune may surprise us...

Another amazing shot, very photojournalistic approach, hope your going to turn this project into a published book or something worthwhile, the quality is there, good luck.

Did you notice the construction of the bed using milk crates.

absolutely fantastic shot, looks like the dog would eat better than the owners.
I hope you offered them a donation for their kindness in allowing you to photograph them.

Wow! What a beautiful picture. I've seen many homeless pictures but this one is something new!

Homelessness is a terrible thing, but I have to say that if this wasn't posted by paulyrichard, I wouldn't believe this picture's genuine. Somehow the shiny white sheets on the street and the man's content look would make the situation look like a staged thing or performance.

No offence to paulyrichard or all the homeless people of the world.

For most this would be absolute luxury here in SA.

The reality is they would be dead overnight and everything stripped & stolen

Thanks for lookin' guys.

Emr, no offence taken mate. I appreciate your comment and it is very valid. Disbelief is jus' as much important as belief itself. The fact that you looked and questioned the situation in this picture is enough. But for what reason would anyone stage somethin' like this?
Surely this question must have entered your mind, no?

DylanSalt, jeez man, i'm not goin' to SA for a holiday. I did hear that Durban was nice, and that maybe I would take my camera for some street photography.
