Beautiful shot. I would love to have a place such as that to have for shooting. How long was your exposure?

Thanks for posting the info on the shot--now I see that you live in Missouri too. Guess it was a vacation shot. Still I love the calm feeling the picture causes when I look at it. I can hear the water and smell the air.

Nice. Where in Maine is this? I was there last week in the Bar Harbor/Acadia Nat'l park area. I didn't take any long exposures as I had no tripod and was traveling with kids. This is beautiful. I hope to get back up there again under more photographically favorabl conditions.

mel, we weren't as far up as Bar Harbor. The rocks are, if my google map link works, here. The nearest town is Martinsville, but Port Clyde is a little bigger and easier to locate, and is about 3 miles away. Andrew and NC and the rest of the Wyeths lived in and around Port Clyde. This is all "below" Rockland as far as Route 1 is concerned. For more of this summer's trip to Maine via Flickr (including some bad photos, I'm afraid, along with some from sea kayaking, Monhegan Island, etc.), see here. Thanks! Jim

ps nice set of cameras, to say the least! I haven't gotten round to listing my lenses yet. I look forward to seeing your photos.

Thanks, MO-bran! Yes, this was a vacation and family get-together. It seemed wrong to leave when the weather was still good in MO, but we were lucky in Maine and missed the cold and damp that had plagued much of the summer, apparently.
