Interesting Effect

Heavy backlighting on this dew covered Dragonfly. K10D with Tamron 90mm f/2.8



And a couple of webs...same set-up

I love the dew look. The last one looks like clear jewels hanging in the air, because you barely see the web. Poor dragonfly is probably too wet to fly. Very cool shots!

These are all captured at a "restored native prairie" site about 10 miles from my home. I'm a very early riser, and I am usually there to shoot pictures before the sun comes up.

Very nice, my favorite is the dragonfly, but the spider web images are great as well.

Did you use a flash ? It is great that we can see the details of the dragonfly clearly despite the backlighting.

No flash used--I really try to not use a flash in any of my outdoor work--I'd rather move around the subject or at most use a reflector.

Wow - that dragonfly is a seriously good image! Well done!

The 3rd image is a bit like lace - I could see it draped over a table.

And as the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm - or in your case the dragonfly!
