Track Day: Behind The Scenes
Posted By: innershell, 08-17-2009, 09:50 PM

Unlike most track day sharp shooters, I don't like capturing track action shots. If you've seen one bike/car zip past you, you've seen them all. I think the action behind the scenes adds more story to the photos. Hope you like them. As usual, C&C are welcome.

Great shots. I might have to spend sometime in the pit lanes during that races.

Pit lane photos do indeed add a lot to the coverage of the race day. Its hard to cover both the pits and the track though so I only cover the pits during practice and lunch.

Nice shots though. Specially of the gals in #2...

Wow they bring back some great memories. Thanks! In the old days there used to be a fair amount of wrenching between sessions, especially with the two-strokes. This offered more shooting potential. These days most track bikes are much more reliable so that all the rider does between sessions isput the bike on paddock stands and bench race.

Try going to a race weekend though when the pits are buzzing with activity and adrenalin. Should be some good photo ops, especially if someone crashes in practice and has to put their bike back together before their race.
