Impressive series - I really like the 1st (the reflection of the arm is a nice touch), 5th (looks alien!!) and 7th (sharp and vivid colour) images

Well done.

Cheers

What exactly did you do to the colours? They are hyped but not so much in a bad way. Very impressive results!

WOW Excellent shots. And I'm jealous as we never have those things in any low tides around here. All I ever see are oysters and fiddler crabs and a few dock crabs......none of them of any nice bright colors.

Hi all, thanks for the wonderful comments. I've always loved the tide pools and make it out there on a rare and often sporadic basis. In particular I am quite fond of sea stars and only after shooting did I realize how much I focused on them.

one word....Polarizer! I used a Hoya one for these. glare was till really strong off the pools despite an cloudy marine layer. the first photo was more of an experiment.

on a side note. the only other crazy people besides me to be out there were some people from the Academy of sciences making a photo catalog of nudibranchs. apparently they think they found a new species.

number one is just fantastic. good idea going with the polarizer for this, as it looks like it more than did its job. excellent series.
