I like these

Ok I admit in general I like HDR even completely over done they may not be good photography but they are often good art. They seem to me to look like movie posters or the old Saturday Evening Post for you oldsters (wait that maybe me!) but with a full range of colors. HD TV and blu ray movies can touch on the edge of HDR and as a result I think the public may come to expect this extra hyper realism in photos.

In your photos I think you knew when to stop, which I think may be the hardest part of using Photomatix.

Maybe there should be a separate forum for HDR.

All this is IMHO! and YMMV

They're quite a different look, the HDR - perhaps taking a little to get accustomed to, and even to like it.
I don't mind the result, particularly in #1, though the 'halo-like' appearance of the sky at the horizons and edges of trees in #5-8 is a little unsightly.
Nice captures overall, though.

Great pictures!

3, 4, 5 and 7 are my favorites. They look really cool and the HDR effect adds a nice feeling to them.....they are great pictures so they probably look good without HDR but I like them this way.

The first two don't do much for me and 6, 8 and 9 have a sky that is "too much" for my taste. They would probably appeal to me more if they had a more natural tone mapping.

Thanks for sharing!

With respect, your images are fabulous, but I don't see the point of usin' HDR. Why anyone would want to apply such a gimmicky trick to such great photos is beyond me.

Actually what bothers me is not the colors or saturation, even though I'm not fond of this style, it's how it creates a kind of "halo" around high contrast areas.

3rd and last one stand out the most for me....

Thinking of trying some soon. Thanks for the inspiration.
