Blue Winged Wasps

These guys have been zooming around my yard for the past few days. They were swarming all around me as I got this shot. They are not agressive towards people and are beneficial as they prey on beetle larvae underground.

Interesting bug.
The JPEG artifact makes it a litt hard to see detail, though it looks like a sharp image.

Since I do like this kind of photography I should probably buy a real macro lens. This was taken with the Tamron 18-250 and then cropped. Shot at F6.3 and 1/125 sec. I was focused on the wasp on the leaf and then the other one cruised into the frame just as I touched the shutter. I'm sure all this affected the detail/sharpness. They are very cool looking, though.
