morning mist

It's unusual that someone beats me onto the lake when I'm fishing, but this guy did. I thought that it would make a nice pic

Stu,

Not only a beautiful picture, but also an excellent example of evaporation fog. I teach a meteorology class at the local community college and am always on the lookout for weather pictures. Would you be willing to send me a larger version, and permission to use it in my class as part of the fog lecture?

I would be honored to volosong
This is as close as I can give you of the full sized image. I had to straighten it out a little and crop a hair off.

And thank you AmdamJayne. I think it's that atmosphere that has me addicted to water. I literally can't live away from vast amounts of fresh water without going bonkers Oh, and yes there were loons crying out all morning, but their misty morning pictures didn't turn out

Perfect! Thank you. Also, thanks for the copyright notice in the EXIF. Did you know that you can use "Character Map" to insert that 'C in a circle' copyright character? There is a keystroke sequence too (Alt+0169), but I don't know how to use that.

Also, could you give me the name of the lake where this image was acquired? Thanks again.

Thanks volosong, I never knew that. It's rare that I post a picture big enough to copyright, so I'm not all that familiar with how to use it.

The lake is Jewel Lake, British Columbia, Canada. If there's any more info that you need please just ask me

Great shot Stu, we call it "sea smoke" where I hail from. If that scene was any more peaceful, I'd fall asleep.

By default, ALL of your images are copyright. Doesn't matter how big or small they are. I always try to remember to insert the copyright notice on posted images...just in case. People are more than welcome to use any of my images in any way they choose, but if they make money from them...well, then that is a different issue and I deserve a cut of the action.

Use Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V to 'cut-n-past' the ASCII code for the special character.

Salty, the 'technical' term is 'evaporation fog'. Reason you call it 'sea smoke' is because you spend too much time on the ocean. By the way, love your 'signatures'. Alway take the time to read them. You always have a word or two of wisdom to share with us.
