Flowers with the 400mm

I don't use the 400mm for flower shots often but this one seemed to work fairly well. Come to think about it I don't shoot flowers very often at all. In any case this one has a macro look to it. I was out shooting birds with the M 400/5.6 on the monopod and this caught my eye.

The shallow depth of field of the 400 against the green background seems to give it some punch. Thankfully there was very little wind today or this shot just wasn't happening.

Thanks Ash - good point. That would enhance things.

In my defense my neighbour was looking rather alarmed at this guy in front of the house with a big lens on a stick.
