Winter Beach Shoot
Posted By: Moose, 08-26-2009, 03:01 AM

On the weekend last gone, I had the opportunity to work with an absolute trooper model at the beach. It was just breaking 19 degrees and the wind was blowing a gale.

Despite that, this first time model managed to pull it all together and, IMHO, produce some great shots. As a first time model, Chelsea was a natural poser and were she needed the slightest bit of instruction, she followed it very well.

So without further a-do....

Comments welcomed.

Hmmm...would that be 19F or C? (sorry for the metric humor). These are cool! I like the skin tones and lighting of the second image.

Nice portraits John.

She has a natural pose in the first one, and the backdrop is complementary.
Second one just doesn't quite have much pop for me - probably because the light on her seems a little flat and harsh (looks like axial flash) and lacks contrast that the background appears to have.

Did you ask her to be on tip-toes for that shot?

Very nice job John, the first one is superb but the second one while being nice is missing something, the leg placement somehow looks awkward to me.

Thanks people

I have about 50 from this shoot to edit up which is pretty good as I usually only edit about 10.

In regards to the questions about the tippy toes, it was left over from another pose, I thought it was different so we went with it

I might have to do a re-edit on image #2 as some of the feedback I have been getting is that it is flat. I think this was my editing and not the image. I will take another look at it.

Thanks again
