Awesome light, crystal air and a pano
Posted By: Damn Brit, 08-28-2009, 01:08 AM

The light was awesome this evening and the air had a crystal clear quality to it.
The Pano was five exposures taken with Gus's (Igilligan) DA 40 LTD. Of the other two, the first was with my 77 LTD and the second with the 40.
As usual, there's a bigger version of the pano in the gallery.

I don't know. There is something about the images that tickles. Yet some how misses. I see them as "thin" somehow where they should be fuller. I apologize for my lack of sophistication in critique. They look good. I want more richness in the color.

Thanks, have another look will you? I think I uploaded the wrong versions originally.

Nice Gary, very nice. You guys in the East Bay really get some excellent sunsets with the bay/city/marin as back drops. Thanks for sharing.

Sigh. I lived there 25 years ago where I was 18 for 2 years. Now I'm a dutchman living in the UK. I really miss the bay area.

Beautiful shots, Gary. The panorama looks like you caught the range of sunset to nightfall.

Thanks Andrew, the graduation from light to dark in those views I am lucky enough to see so often never cease to fill me with a sense of wonder.

Thanks Grant, it's a shame that that colour is caused at least partly by the smoke from the forest fires.
I heard on the news this evening that a 20,000 acre fire is only 5% contained in the L.A. area and there's smoke from the sea to the desert.

Another nice set Gary - I have to say that with #2, I'd prefer the distant area be sharp rather than the foreground branch which is in focus, but with that aside, I like 'em. Another great pano too.

Thanks Josh. You get a cigar for that. I was too lazy to get the tripod out so DOF was sacrificed.

Thank you CJ.
When are we going to see more pics of the countryside you've escaped to?
