I was hesitant at first using lightroom.

Now I Love it! So easy with all the presets.

Do experiment too! I downloaded a bunch and then looked at the navigator screen switch as I passed the cursor over (a feature I wish live view for the 2nd monitor did!) and looked at different parts of the photo change. Then I would click and go into the settings to see what changed. Then I replicated it from scratch. Now I have modified most of the presets I have downloaded and even made a few up.

The available presets are a great learning tool as well. I often will use a preset as a hint on how to do something or will apply the preset and fine tune using the image controls. It is amazing what you can do.
