Love that Hosta leaf Freddy, really nice almost abstract, great shapes and textures. I also really like the first one but more for the background, reminds me of one of the Dutch still life artists. I still don't understand people who say this lens is bad...what are they using for eyes?

Thanks Skama and H2O.
Yeah I'm pretty happy with my pictures but probably the bokeh of the Sigma 2.8 is better than the kit. Glad I'm using the kit lens, though, it deserves respect and shouldn't be sitting in a drawer. It has a lot going for it. regards, Freddy

I think those shots are great Freddy - I love the mood in #1 and the texture of #2. And look at the leaf cupping the flower on the right; the shades of green and almost glass like quality bokeh and the hard green edges on that leaf in particular. And yet the buds on the right aren't "bokeh'd"; that adds to the mood and mystery of that lovely shot. In my humble opinion, i think the kit lens has a personality all its own. I love my kit lens. Cheers! Jayne, a kit-kat

Thanks, Jayne. Appreciate your comments. It's tough to work nice shots on the cloudy days I've been having. But I love working in Photoshop, which makes it possible. Regards, Freddy
